Title:
Yonder (window) Previous Next
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Size: 24"x36"
Description: This entry in the 'Windows' series pays homage to William Shakespeare by citing the famous line:

"Hark, what light through yonder window breaks" (Romeo and Juliet).

The light is revealed as Juliet, at her window in the evening.

This painting conveys an innocent femininity viewed under a cloudless night sky. The blue moonlight seems to affect Remeo's vision: the velvet curtains at Juliet's window flouresce violet, and her own pink essence appears almost magenta.
